Starbucks Hot Java Cool Jazz 2026

WHAT WE DID

Every year, the Starbucks Hot Java Cool Jazz benefit concert showcases talented young musicians in the Seattle area while raising more than $1.4 million for high school music programs. Here at Red Element Studios, we were proud to create videos and provide A/V services for the sold-out crowd during set changes between the schools’ performances. Our filming captured podcast-style conversations between kids and the band directors. They talked about what jazz and the arts inspire during the formative high school years, from providing leadership opportunities and community to lessons on how to work hard and reduce stress. Other videos created hype for the show, and dug into the history of the storied theater, and 29 year run of Hot Java Cool Jazz. We filmed at the beautiful STG Paramount theater with its strong vintage vibes, as well as at Kerry Hall, STG's center for community-centered arts programming.
